Jessica Alba, who just spent some time with her boyfriend Cash Warren in Miami for the holidays, has been practicing for her role in “The Eye”.  The movie will be filmed in Albuquerque. The “Fantastic Four” actress has been practicing the violin, finding it  very hard, but after three months she’s getting the hang of it.  She also carries a can with her and has been wearing a sleep mask. 

Alba will be playing a blind woman in “The Eye”. The woman, Allison, gets a cornea transplants and is determined to find the previous owner together with the doctor that gave her back her sight.  After having the transplant Allison is getting these weird visions of ghosts and dead people and catches glimpses of the supernatural world. The movie is filled with suspense and very unpredictable turnings. 

The original Hong Kong movie “Jian Gui” was a hit in 2002 and was made by the Pang Brothers.  The US version of this movie is being produced by Tom Cruise’s production company and will be directed by Xavier Palud and David Moureau.  The Pang Brothers have just completed The Messengers, their first English-language thriller.  The Darkness will be their next project.

Cruise and Paula Wagner talked Paramount into buying the remake rights of the movie, but when Renee Zellweger dropped out the project ended up in the closet.  Wagner and Cruise then went to Lionsgate who picked it up again and now Jessica Alba is the star of the movie.  She reportedly signed a $4 million contract to play the main role.  Other parts will be played by Parker Posey, Alessandro Nivola and the ten-year-old Chloe Moretz.  If Cruise himself will play a role alongside Alba, is still a mystery.

The hollywood babe is extremely busy at the moment with six films on her to-do list, including the sequels to The Fantastic Four and Sin City.
