The R&B star Brandy, full name Norwood, might be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter for the accident she was in on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles on 30 December. The singer failed to see that the traffic in front of her was slowing
down and she crashed her 2007 Land Rover into a Toyota in front of her. The vehicle slipped sideways into the center divider and then collided with another vehicle. This crash caused a chain of accidents.  The woman in the 2005 Toyota,
Awatef Aboudihaj (38), left for the hospital in critical condition. She passed away the next day from blunt-force injuries.  The victims of the other cars were moderately injured.  Brandy didn’t get hurt. A publicist of the “Moesha”-star stated that Brandy expresses her condolences to the family and asks everyone to respect the privacy of everybody. The star was not placed under arrest and there were no evidence of drugs or alcohol. An unidentified witness says the singer repeatedly told it was her fault and she was totally disoriented. The police is performing a mechanical investigation to see if the accident was caused by a technical malfunction. The California Highway Patrol has now recommended that Brandy to be
charged.  This charge can lead to a sentence of one year in jail and a fine.  This fine will be set to a $1000.  If charged, a lawyer can enter a plea so Brandy doesn’t have to appear in court. Brandy is became popular in the soap “Moesha”, she starred in from 1996 - 2001.  She has already made five albums and got a Grammy award in 1999.  She started singing when she was 14 and has acted in films and television shows. She recently was a judge for NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”.
